The Legal Advice and Referral Center provides free legal services to low-income residents in the areas of family law, benefits and welfare, and housing. Services include legal advice by phone, referrals to other free legal assistance programs, and self-help resources.

The New Hampshire Supreme Court provides direction on how to file a grievance against an attorney. Information includes an explanation of the system, procedural steps, answers to frequently asked questions, prior disciplinary decisions, and links to necessary filing forms.

Search public attorney discipline decisions by attorney name, year, complaining party, docket number and type of sanction or warning issued.
Free and Low-Cost Legal Aid
View information from the New Hampshire Access to Justice Commission about organizations that provide legal advice and representation to low-income residents for non-criminal cases. Descriptions of available services are included.
Consumer Protection
The New Hampshire Department of Justice offers information about consumer protection, identity theft, mortgage foreclosure, elder abuse and financial fraud. A Consumer Protection Hotline number is provided, in addition to links for forms, publications, and alerts in a variety of languages.
Low-Cost Limited Legal Representation
Community Legal Services offers low-cost "unbundled" legal services in which lawyers provide some services to self-represented parties for a smaller fee than full representation. Services may include advice about the case, document preparation, coaching, court appearances for difficult parts of the case, and other tasks as agreed.
Indigent Defense Information
The Office of Cost Containment offers information about defendants' eligibility for court-appointed counsel, and responsibility for repayment to the state.
Public Defender
View information about the New Hampshire Public Defender Program, which provides legal representation for indigent defendants facing possible incarceration, including delinquency cases.
Lawyer Referral
The New Hampshire Bar Association offers a lawyer referral service by telephone, online request form, or email. An initial consultation with a lawyer may be arranged for a nominal fee, or for free.
