The Travis County Attorney's Office offers information on County Attorney and District Attorney hot check collection and prosecution, including the difference between an issuance charge and a theft charge, different types of checks, instructions for filing, tips for merchants, and downloadable forms.
Travis County Juvenile, Family, and Mental Health Representation
View information about the Travis County Juvenile Public Defender, Mental Health Public Defender, Office of Child Representation, and Office of Parental Representation, which provide legal representation for indigent parties in juvenile, family, and mental health commitment cases.
Central Texas Lawer Referral and Reduced-Fee Services
The Lawyer Referral Service of Central Texas offers referrals in Bastrop, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties by phone or online form. Initial consultations for a small fee are also available. Information about working with a lawyer and types of law is provided, as well as Limited Scope Representation which provides help from a lawyer on specific parts of a case for self-represented parties.
